Earning points is easy and depends on the tier of membership you hold. Silver members get 25% of the available points, Gold members get 50%, while Platinum members receive 100% of the available points. But points aren’t just restricted to Qantas. They can also be earned from any one of the affiliate airlines in the Oneworld Alliance - the world’s oldest alliance composed of the leading group of airlines. Members include: Finnair, Malev, American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Mexicana, Royal Jordanian, Cathay Pacific and Lan – so no matter where you need to fly in the world, you can earn points on Qantas.

Points can also be earned through using Qantas linked credit cards from American Express, ANZ, Citibank, Commonwealth Bank, NAB, Suncorp and Westpac – allowing you to build up your points balance with your monthly purchases.

Qantas boasts a wealth of partners, including many leading hotel chains. Members earn three points for every dollar spent on a hotel room within Australia and 1000 points per stay at International hotel partners. In addition, partnerships exist with companies offering holiday packages, duty free, foreign exchange, insurance and valet parking, finance, real estate and business services, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

Once earned, points can be redeemed on Qantas flights, upgrades, gifts and vouchers. Residents of any country may apply for the Qantas card, but those from Australia and New Zealand must pay a small one-off joining fee.
