About the Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer ProgramVirgin Australia’s Velocity Rewards program has three tiers of membership: Red, Silver and Gold. Points are amassed in two different pots – your Velocity points can be redeemed on flights and other products, while your Status credits help you move up the ladder to the next tier of membership. Red status members gain five Velocity points and five Status credits for every dollar spent with Virgin Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesia Blue. Silver members gain six Velocity points and six Status credits for every qualifying dollar spent, while Gold members enjoy seven Velocity points and seven Status credits with every dollar spent on flights. Points are uncapped and never expire so you can spend them when it is right for you. There are a number of different ways to earn points besides flying Virgin Australia and their partner airlines (including Delta, Emirates, Hawaiian Airlines or Skywest); you can also gain them through your purchasing with Velocity’s partners. Hotel partners include the Hilton, Crown, Travelodge, Intercontinental, Clarion, Candlewood, Vibe, Holiday Inn or Staybridge Suites. Auto partners include Europcar, Fiat, Brunel and Airport Parking. If you purchase insurance and/or business services through Virgin Money, Virgin Money Car Insurance, ING or Ibis World, you can also earn points. Points are also yours for booking holidays with Blue Holidays, Cruise Pilot and Superpass. In partnership with Suncorp, ANZ, NAB, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and Citibank there are a number of Virgin Australia credit cards available which allow you to earn Velocity miles with your regular purchases. Your basic Red membership allows you to build up points towards travel and build Status credits to advance to Silver and Gold levels where additional perks await you such as: access to Virgin Australia airport lounges, free checked baggage, priority check-in, personalised baggage tags and priority phone booking services. The Velocity Rewards program is open to residents of Australia or New Zealand over the age of 16. Accounts may be opened for children over the age of two by their parent/guardian. |
